Juliet and the Horrible, Rotten, No Good, Very Bad Day

Mood: Blue (couldn't you tell by the color? :( ) Song: "Crime of the Century" (If you can identify the origin of THAT one, I'll give you a cookie, I promise! :) ) Here's the true story: I *sniff* was setting up for one more round in the prizefight that is my life (so far me:200, hormonally-charged English students: 200, research papers:1,000,000). I thought today would be like any other day...I was wrong. The scene of the crime: the 100 Building of Saguaro High School, Scottsdale, AZ The date: Today...don't you read the head of postings on my blog? The players: one very naieve and still only half-awake 24-year old student teacher (yours truly), one student who shall remain nameless for her own protection, the unkown perpetrator of dastardliness, and one set of Saguaro H.S. keys on a pin-laden lanyard (ask me about it-I'm wearing WAY more than the recommended number of pieces of flare, I'll have you know!) The time: shortly after 7:00 a.m., Mountain Standard Time The suspects: ?!?! The first mistake was clearly mine; I did something that we're not EVER supposed to do, yet somehow every teacher here does it at one time or another...I loaned my keys to a Stugo student (see previous posting for a description of the organized chaos that is Stugo). She needed a poster currently residing in the English Department Office; I needed to make photocopies. It seemed like a perfect compromise; she'd go get her poster, I'd make my copies, and she'd rendezvous with me at the 100-building copy center. She TOLD me, althiough I didn't hear her over the din of the machine, that she'd place my keys on top of the filing cabinet. By the time I asked her for them (after several passing periods), it was too late...an act of such nefarious malfeasances that I can hardly bear to speak of it even now. My keys had vanished, but the carefully decorated lanyard with my pins remained. :*(. Obviously, a thief is among us. Where is Sherlock Holmes when you need him? I'm putting up wanted posters even as we speak.
